What Do Holiday Lights Cost?
The cost of a holiday light installation service will vary greatly depending on what you are looking for. In general, most experienced and reputable companies have a minimum of $500 for a relatively simple house job, for example outlining a roof. Some services will start somewhat below this, but rarely by a lot – otherwise chances are they are uninsured or under-insured, offering inferior lights, or are inexperienced looking for that first customer.
Make sure you understand what you are getting with the purchase. Most companies rent or lease the lights to you, and store them in the off season. Others will sell you the lights and its your responsibility to store them. Some companies offer one price for design, installation, ongoing service calls, and removal, others will have different prices for each and will charge for each light outage. Many companies will have discounted rates for earlier installations – if you are okay with getting your lights installed before the Halloween decorations come down, you’ll likely get the best deal.
